The People Speak: Yeti Hunt Signals the End of a GameRevolution Era

This week we were able to check out Far Cry 5 at a private press event, and even wrote a preview for it. We also reviewed the Vanquish PC version. Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, Disgaea 5 Complete for the Nintendo Switch, and Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada.

There was a lot to talk about in regards to news, so we wrote some long-form features including a look at why Final Fantasy XIV's Stormblood expansion is a big deal, and even delivered the internet's only full overview of the mythological yeti hunt in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands.

We're currently hosting two giveaways, one for SMITE's newest character, and the other for Livelock game codes.

Our relaunch is planned for next Tuesday. It will entail an entire website overhaul, in addition to the introduction of a new forum. You can read our official relaunch announcement on the official CraveOnline Media website. See you on the other side.

Article: Mystery Solved: Ghost Recon Wildlands' Yeti Turned Out to Be Just a Guy

Comment: Love it when they put these kinds of things in games. Even if it's not 'real', it still makes for great stories.

Reminds me of the Yeti DLC in Far Cry 4, man that stuff was scary.

Article: FFXIV: Stormblood Will Have Insanely Time Consuming Story Requirements like Heavensward

Comment: Being gone for over a year and a half and completing JUST the main portion of XIV before I left, I have yet to get to the Heavensward DLC. 🙁 The potion would be great for me, considering I still want to play, but life gets in the way and I'd love to raid and grind, but that's just not possible. Plus, I'm eager to get my first house in the East on Stormblood. :3

Comment: Too little, too late. Jim Sterling got threatened by the "top players" to not make a Jimquisition on the company behind the game, which had him reply "Challenge accepted".

You do not challenge Jim Sterling head on and expect to survive.

Article: Humble Bundle Is Giving Away Rising Storm for Free

Comment: I bought this game on sale back in January, but I got a refund for it because the tutorial was broken.

Now the game is mine again, for free. I win. Thanks, Humble Store.

Article: A New Life Is Strange Game Is on the Way, DONTNOD Confirms

Comment: Awesome. I hate the whole episodic thing but burning through the game in a weekend was a great experience.

I'm assuming they'll probably take similar mechanics & introduce a new host of characters rather than explore more of Max's story. I felt like that arc rounded out pretty well & to carry on would be difficult. I guess they could pick up much later on in her life but I think a new setting & new characters would offer more opportunities.

Article: Letter from the Editor: Say Hello to the New GameRevolution

Comment: Really looking forward to seeing the new GR!

Question: will it have a mobile site launching alongside it? I pretty much browse GR exclusively on my phone.

Article: Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed until Spring 2018

Comment: This is pretty typical for Rockstar. Until a date is announced from an official source, the standing assumption should be 'when it's done, if ever.'

Still, that means 2017's lineup is a little more anemic as a result. I suppose 2017 will go down as the year that started strong and fizzled out.

Article: GR Poems: Livelock Game Giveaway!

Comment: Beat'em up, beat'em up, beat'em up good

The Warriors game was the best co-op in the hood

There were knives and bats…and dudes with baseball hats

There was grabbing and stabbing and tons of thrills to be had

As the game concluded one could only be sad

Article: What Are You Playing? May 25th, 2017

Comment: I finished Horizon Zero Dawn and started on Rise of the Tomb Raider. I'm having trouble making the switch though. Lara's movements are so floaty. I can never tell if I'm actually going to land a jump or not.

Anyway, I'm also over the halfway point in trying to unlock the scout variant of the Martini Henry in BF1. Considering, I've never really cared to use the iron site sniper rifles, I think I'm making good progress.

I still suck at Battlegrounds, but I think I'm getting less terrible. I can usually at least make it to the last ten players, but I've still not gotten a win under my belt.
