Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels Review

On the surface, the Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels seem like a pretty simple product. They are six-edged RGB panels that offer customized lighting to decorate a room. However, the Govee Home app offers additional functionality that sets them apart for a more premium experience.

Easy setup

Govee has clearly worked hard to make installing the Glide Hexa Light Panels as simple as possible while still allowing for a wide range of designs. After plugging in the control box via the power adapter, users must pair the setup with the Govee Home app.

With the app installed, it’s time to create a design or select one of the recommendations. From there, the app guides you panel by panel as you set up the selected design. Setup is aided by the included mini level and orientation piece. There’s also a dedicated YouTube tutorial as an additional bit of help.

Personalize your RGB experience

When all the pieces are in place, the real fun can begin. While users can manually select their own colors, I’d recommend playing around with the “Scenes” options. There are many different choices here, all of which animate in an impressive way thanks to the six individually lit edges of each panel, allowing for smoother transitions and gradients. 

The animations look fantastic, with Forest and Sunset Glow being personal favorites of mine. The direction of each animation can be tuned as well.

Brightly does it

The panels can get very bright, but this can be fine-tuned using the Brightness slider within the app. What’s more, users can set sleep and wake times to have the panels turn off and back on automatically. Want to wake up to some sunrise colors? You can do that.

Finally, there’s the music mode. This causes the lights to reflect the beat of any media that is being played. I think this could be great for a party setting.
