Disney is going all-in on AI, and it’s not just about the $1 billion OpenAI deal. If reports are to be believed, the company is working on DisneyGPT and also an Iron Man-inspired AI chatbot. AI enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement, curious to see what lies ahead as entertainment merges with artificial intelligence.
Report suggests Disney is developing DisneyGPT and a Jarvis-inspired chatbot
Diving deeper into the AI realm, Disney has partnered with OpenAI to launch DisneyGPT and an Iron Man-inspired AI tool, codenamed Jarvis. According to a groundbreaking revelation, Disney is reportedly building its own AI arsenal, thereby urging employees to leverage AI tools.
Promoting a culture of innovation and experimentation, the media giant is introducing tools like DisneyGPT. It is a chatbot that assists employees in tasks like creating IT support tickets, viewing the company roster, and analyzing project finances.
In an official email addressing staff on October 2, Disney introduced the beta version of its AI chatbot, calling it their “new partner in productivity”. The company further claims that the bot can help “unlock the magic of your imagination”. Launched in December, the latest update allows employees to upload Excel and PowerPoint files to the chatbot.
DisneyGPT is infused with iconic themes. The chatbot’s December update log hints at a prompt that asks users if they’re “ready for an enchanting adventure”. Moreover, “a verified collection of Walt Disney quotes tagged by themes like imagination, perseverance, and leadership”, makes work tasks more delightful.
Additionally, Disney is working on a more advanced AI assistant codenamed Jarvis, inspired by Iron Man’s iconic AI. Designed to handle tasks autonomously, Jarvis holds the potential of taking the company’s AI capabilities to the next level. Although still in its early stages, Jarvis promises to revolutionize the media conglomerate’s work culture.
It’s definitely something they want to push for everyone to lean into more,” a Disney manager said, explaining the growing dependence on AI. This shift to AI is reflective of its long tradition of combining innovation and entertainment.
