Rocket League Will Head to the Basketball Court in Next Week’s Free Update

Rocket League has earned widespread attention for its simple, competitive gameplay that merges racing and soccer. In recent months it has offered players new ways to enjoy the game with additional maps. Next week, it will release a map that could end up being its most popular yet.

On April 26th a free update will be published for Rocket League called Hoops. As you might suspect from its name, Hoops takes Rocket League's fun gameplay to the basketball court, with nets and backboards. Players will be able to enter and defend their hoop, but must dribble and shoot the ball in an arch, similar to basketball, in order to score. You can see how it looks in action in the video below:

Rocket League's Hoops DLC will arrive during the NBA Playoffs on the same day that three game 5 playoff games are scheduled. Although it will be available at no cost, developer Psyonix will monetize the package by offering an NBA flag bundle that will allow players to represent their favorite NBA team with a flag of their choice.
