Anthem Map Size Fully Revealed, Confirmed by BioWare Developer

There’s a lot of things that we already know about Anthem, but thanks to BioWare developer Brenon Holmes, we now know the Anthem map size fully. Thank the Maker! Terrible jokes aside, bits and pieces of information about BioWare’s upcoming sci-fi RPG has been given out thanks to Mark Darrah’s official Twitter account. We’ve learned a number of things thanks to Darrah, such as more about the game’s day/night cycle, gender variations and why there won’t be any, as well as the potential of having romance in the future.

We’ve learned a lot more too, which you can check out here, but this new information will have fans of BioWare critically analyzing and re-analyzing for days. Considering this is BioWare’s first time treading ground on open-world shooters in a shared world, it makes sense on why some fans would be curious about Anthem’s map and what it has to offer. Knowing this, Brenon Holmes took to Reddit to tease fans on what they could expect from Anthem’s world map.

Holmes confirmed the size of the map when Reddit user SwellyNelly posted the following screenshot to Anthem’s subreddit. We’ve cropped YouTube away, so readers can fully look at the map for themselves without distraction.

SwellyNelly asked “is this actually the map’s size?” to which Holmes responded in the affirmative, though later added that there was “a bit missing at the top and bottom” in the Reddit user’s screenshot.

As you may be able to see in the Reddit thread, some fans feel as though the map looks smaller than they anticipated. Whether that rings true will be answered on release, but in our opinion individuals who are concerned about the size may have failed to take into account verticality which maps like this do not show.

Anthem will be releasing on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 on February 22, 2019.
