New Battlefield Title Launching Next Year

Electronic Arts has announced that a new entry in the Battlefield franchise will be releasing at some point in 2014.

According to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau during an earnings call, the publisher "will be launching a Battlefield game next year” and, unsurprisingly, they are "very excited to show you guys more detail on that coming soon." He also went on to clarify that they company has no plans to shell out a new entry every year… yet. “We're not announcing an annualization of Battlefield at this time,” Gibeau added.

While the publisher didn't specify whether or not this was in reference to Battlefield 4, I'd say it's fairly safe to assume that they weren't talking about a new Bad Company.

Are you excited for more Battlefield or are you beginning to grow tired of the military FPS genre? Will a snazzy next-gen version be enough to rope you back in? Let us know in the comments below.
