As we’re edging ever-closer to the end date of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, strange Fortnite Doomsday Hatches have begun to appear on the map around The Agency. In this guide, we’ll try to help you decipher what the Fortnite Doomsday Hatch is and can you open the underwater hatches in Fortnite? Read on to find out what you can do with the underwater hatches in the game, what they might do, and when all the Doomsday stuff should kick-off.

What are the Fortnite Doomsday Hatches?

As stated above, five mysterious underwater hatches have appeared on the Fortnite map. You can find these in the river surrounding The Agency. Reliable Fortnite data miner FortTory has shown us what the underwater Doomsday Hatches look like, and where they are, exactly. Unfortunately, all we know about the underwater Doomsday Hatches is what we can see above and what we’ve already told you. It’s shrouded in mystery. Presumably, however, they have something to do with the ending of Chapter 2 Season 2 and the ushering in of Chapter 2 Season 3. This, for those that don’t know, is scheduled for April 30, 2020.

Can you open the underwater hatches in Fortnite?

As of writing, you cannot open the Fortnite Doomsday Hatches. It’s unclear what the Doomsday Hatches will do if they do anything. All we can tell right now is that they could have something to do with the end of Chapter 2 Season 2. Whether or not you’ll be able to open the underwater hatches towards the end of April 2020, however, is another thing. There’s more on the way, too. You might be able to open the underwater hatches in Fortnite at some point. As already said, they’re likely to do with Season 2 ending and Season 3 beginning. Whatever Epic Games has planned for the Doomsday Hatches, however, should be revealed soon enough.
