How to Land Faster in Fortnite: The Best Method for Landing Quickly

The best offense is a good defense, as the saying goes. For Fortnite, the saying may as well read ‘the best offense is a good landing spot’. That’s easier said than done, however, especially when you have 100 people falling from the sky. There is a trick to it: knowing how to land faster in Fortnite will allow you to get the upper-hand on your rivals and ensure you get to the best locations before anyone else.

How to Land Faster in Fortnite: The Best Method

How to land faster in Fortnite is simply a case of timing. If you want to dive out of the Battle Bus straight away, or wait until the very end, sure, go nuts. The main thing is you have a landing spot in mind. From there, it’s easier to work at picking up speed (as I’ll explain in a tick).

To land faster in Fortnite, you’ll have to hold up on your left stick on consoles (and PC equivalent) and aim at the rough area you wish to land. Don’t let go and stop skydiving until the game overrides your commands and deploys your glider. You know you’re going as fast as you can possibly go if your body is roughly at a 45-degree angle to the ground.

You can’t rest on your laurels yet, though. Once the glider is out, it is imperative that you are a small distance away from your potential landing zone. From there, you’re going to have to again press up to speed up the falling process (conversely, holding down will slow you down for a more accurate landing) and, with some luck, you’ll be speeding over to your target and landing faster at the same time.

How to Land Faster in Fortnite: Using Different Gliders

Time to bust some myths. Gliders are cosmetic only. You don’t get an extra speed boost for owning the Nevermore set, or any other glider that you’ve got your eye on. It’s deceptively simple: how to land faster in Fortnite requires the precise use of directional commands over anything else, cosmetic or otherwise.
