Rockstar has revealed the Red Dead Redemption 2 collector’s editions and the pre-order bonuses you get for buying them early. Red Dead Redemption 2 will come in a standard edition, special edition, and an ultimate edition. Additionally, a collector’s box will be available that contains a plethora of RDR 2 goodies, but not the game itself.

What’s in the Red Dead Redemption 2 Special Edition Contents?

The RDR 2 Special Edition is the next tier up from the standard edition. The special edition contains six pieces of digital content as well as a physical world map. The contents are:

Bank Robbery Missions and Gang Hideout: You get access to a bank robbery mission where Arthur and the gang plan to rob a bank in the town of Rhodes. You also get a gang hideout mission where you must clear out the Del Lobos Gang from a hacienda and steal their stash.

Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit: This outfit is inspired by the garb of the vaqueros and banditos of Mexico. It has a wide-brimmed black hat, denim chaps, leather gloves and boots, and a deep indigo coat.
Three Free Weapons: You’ll get access to the Volcanic Pistol, Pump-Action Shotgun, and Lancaster Varmit Rifle from the very start of the game.

What’s in the Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box Contents?

Now, this is where things get a little confusing. Rockstar is offering a Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box in their online store. Logic would dictate that it would include the game, but that’s where you’d be wrong. The Collector’s Box does not contain a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2. Instead, you get a metal tithing box with eight Red Dead Redemption 2-themed items.

The contents of the Collector’s Box are:

Cigarette Cards: Twelve collectible cards mirroring a set of collectible that can be found in-game.
Collectible Challenge Coin: One side features a buffalo and the other a landscape. It comes in a presentation holder that will protect it from the elements.
Double-Sided Puzzle: A 100-piece, double-sided jigsaw puzzle with an image of the port of Saint Denis on one side and a Western-inspired Rockstar logo on the other.
Pin Set: Six pins in the image of weapons from Red Dead Redemption 2. Comes with a canvas bag for storage.
Playing Cards: A standard deck of playing cards featuring illustrations of members of the Van der Linde gang.
Six-Shooter Bandana: A regular-looking red bandana, but look closer, and you’ll see hidden weapons throughout.
Treasure Map: A map on sturdy, unrippable paper revealing the location of some treasure that will help you on your journey.
