Red Dead Redemption 2 – Are There Missable Missions or Quests and a Point of No Return?

It’s always the way with these sprawling AAA titles. The idea of Red Dead Redemption 2 missable missions or quests has probably been nagging away at you since you first put on your Stetson. Below, we’ll showcase the full list of Red Dead Redemption 2 missable missions or quests as well as the biggie: answering where there is a Red Dead Redemption 2 point of no return. Spoiler: There is. And you might want to pay attention as to when it drops.

Are There Red Dead Redemption 2 Missable Missions or Quests?

Unfortunately, there are. But the good news is that there aren’t too many of them, and you have to get through a large chunk of the game before you can even “miss” most of the missable missions or quests on offer. There are only missable missions/quests in Chapter 2, Chapter 4, and Chapter 6. While all missions have to be completed by the chapter stated below, there’s still a running clock on most of these, barring Chapter 2’s offering, so it’s best to finish them as soon as possible.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Missable Missions or Quests (Chapter 2):

  • Good, Honest Snake Oil (Valentine Police Station. To be completed by Chapter 6)

Red Dead Redemption 2 Missable Missions or Quests (Chapter 4):

  • Brothers and Sisters, One and All (Available after completing “Help a Brother Out”; head to the church north of Saint Denis. To be completed by Chapter 4)
  • Fatherhood and Other Dreams (Available after completing “Angelo Bronto, A Man of Honor”; head to Arthur’s room and read the letter. To be completed by Chapter 4)

Red Dead Redemption 2 Missable Missions or Quests (Chapter 6):

  • Do Not Seek Absolution I and II (Available with an honor rank of at least 4 from the coal mine in Annensburg. To be completed by Chapter 6)
  • Of Men and Angels I and II (Available from the church in Saint Denis. To be completed by Chapter 6.)
  • The Course of True Love IV and V (Read the letter from Penelope in your tent after completing a mission following Chapter 5. To be completed by Chapter 6.)
  • Money Lending and Other Sins VI and VII (Speak to Strauss in the camp. To be completed by Chapter 6.)

Is There a Red Dead Redemption 2 Point of No Return?

The Chapter 6 mission “Our Best Selves” which you get from Dutch is the mission that kicks off the Red Dead Redemption 2 point of no return. From there, you’re locked in until the end of the chapter. The mission that precedes this, for reference, is “My Last Boy.”
