Red Dead Online Week 1 Update Patch

Red Dead Online Week 1 Update – Patch Includes Economy Balancing and Free Cash and Gold Bars

The first Red Dead Online update has been announced and will make changes to cash and gold layouts, pelt prices, weapons prices, and other adjustments. Additionally, Rockstar will be sending gifts of cash and Gold Bars to those who played the Red Dead Redemption 2 Online Beta anytime from its start until midnight PST on December 6.

The Red Dead Online Week 1 patch contains balances that were made with comments from the community online. Specifically, this patch seems to target the game’s economy, which many have derided as being too grindy.

Red Dead Online Week 1 Update – What’s New in the RDO Week 1 Patch?

As stated above, this update is less about new content and more about adjusting what’s already there. Many RDO players have commented that the payout rates for missions, events, and Showdown Series are too low and that prices in shops are too high. The Week 1 Red Dead Online patch aims to address some of these claims by balancing the game’s economy a bit better.

Cash and gold payouts will be increased across Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, Land of Opportunities Mission replays, and Showdown Series modes.

Weapons will be reduced in price as well. If you’ve previously purchased a gun through the catalog or from a shop, you’ll get the difference between the price you paid and the new prices debited back to your account starting today. When you’ve received the refund, you’ll get a message when logging into the Red Dead Online Beta. Payouts may take up to December 10 to reach all players.

Values for the following items have also been adjusted:

  • Pelts
  • Skins
  • Fish
  • Horse Reviver
  • Pamphlets

Red Dead Online Week 1 Update – Free Cash and Gold Bars

Rockstar is rewarding players who have tried the Red Dead Online Beta so far with a gift of free cash and gold bars. To qualify you will have to have played the game at least once between when the beta went live and midnight PST on December 6.

As long as you meet the prerequisites, you’ll get a payout of $250 and 15 Gold Bars. Gifts will start going out today, and all eligible players should receive their cash and Gold Bars by December 14.

Another update, one that focuses on bugs, should release sometime next week.
