FIFA 20 VOLTA Avatar Customization

In FIFA 20’s brand-new VOLTA mode, you will be able to take part in small-sided soccer matches, ranging between 3v3 and 5v5. In VOLTA, you will create your own player Avatar that can be used across its different modes, and as far as we’re aware, outside of the VOLTA offerings, too (as a Career Mode manager, at least). According to the official FIFA 20 VOLTA pitch notes, Avatar creation should prove simple and quick. There will be previews throughout the creation process so you can see

There are plenty of customization options when it comes to creating your VOLTA Avatar, including plenty of diverse skin tones, hairstyles, facial features, and even facial morphing. It does sound like the options are plentiful. As far as we can tell, the first thing you’ll do in VOLTA is create your Avatar. This is true of the VOLTA Story and seemingly the Tour mode, too. The game should make it clear enough for you when you boot it up.

FIFA 20 VOLTA Avatar Customization

As stated above, there appears to be plenty of different VOLTA Avatar customization options to choose from, right from the whistle. You’ll be able to choose from hairstyles, skin tones, facial features, facial morphing, and more. You can create both male and female VOLTA Avatars, too.

Any female VOLTA player Avatar you create can be used in a couple of different modes outside of VOLTA, too. You will be able to use your female Avatar in Career Mode (as a manager) and in the Women’s World Cup, too. On top of this, you will be able to play mixed-gender VOLTA matches as well.

The full list of customization options can be seen below:

  • Celebrations
  • Clothing
    • Footwear, Hats, Shirts, Tops, Shorts, and more

EA claims that you will be able to “experience a variety of styles,” including streetwear and athletic looks. What’s more, you can equip any clothes and tattoos you own to any VOLTA player, not just your Avatar. This means that you can give a matching look to your entire squad, mix-and-match, or go for a full team of individual looks. It’s entirely up to you, but how do you unlock VOLTA customization options?

FIFA 20 VOLTA Avatar Customization | How to unlock new customization items

FIFA 20 VOLTA Avatar Customization

While it looks as though there will be a good variety of customization options for your VOLTA Avatars, you need to know how you can unlock them all. We’re here for that, too. Fortunately, there are several different ways in which you can unlock new customization equipment for your Avatar and VOLTA squad.

The main way in which you can unlock customization options in VOLTA is through the VOLTA Shop. In this shop, you will be able to scroll through the list of available gear, including clothing and tattoos. Through the Shop, you can browse, buy, and equip your customization items. New items will enter into the Shop at regular (unannounced) times and will often be time-limited. Make sure you pick up the items you like before they are gone, as some may never return, it seems.

Items in the VOLTA Shop will be tiered by rarity, too. Many of the items will also be placed onto prestige ladders which you will be able to climb through with each new item drop. You should be able to unlock the rarest item of them all during each drop through gameplay alone, too.

To buy customization items from the VOLTA Shop, you will need to first get hold of VOLTA Coins. To unlock VOLTA Coins, you simply need to win matches and complete objectives (you can earn customization items through the completion of objectives, too). The higher the difficulty of the matches and objectives, the better your rewards will be.
