Sadly, you won’t be able to play any of Mario Kart Tour without being connected online. This means that you’ll need to have a constant Wi-fi or data connection in order to play the game at all. While this may come as disappointing news to those of you who don’t carry large data plans or inconsistent Wi-fi, it isn’t surprising news. Dr. Mario World needs to be connected online at all times in order to play, too.

To make things more difficult, you will need to have a Nintendo Account in order to play Mario Kart Tour, too. If you don’t have a Nintendo Account, you can create one via the Nintendo Account website. If at any time, your internet connection goes down while playing Mario Kart Tour, you should receive the error code 806-0001. Don’t worry if this, or the 806-1328 code appears. Both codes simply mean that you aren’t connected online. Simply reset your Wi-fi or wait until you can pick up a data connection again before playing.
