If you ask us, there’s not much better than gathering a few friends for some Halo: The Master Chief Collection local multiplayer. It’d be undoubtedly great to be able to play Halo: MCC PC split-screen, but is the much-requested feature even in the game? In this Halo Master Chief Collection PC split-screen guide, we’ll let you know the answer to “can you play Halo: MCC PC local multiplayer?” Read on to discover if there will be Halo: MCC split-screen on the hotly-anticipated PC port of the game.
Halo: MCC PC Split-Screen | Can you play local multiplayer?
If you’re anything like us, you should have fond memories of booting Halo up on your Xbox with a few friends and gathering around the TV to play a few rounds of local split-screen multiplayer. Of course, this feature would be a great thing to have on the PC port of The Master Chief Collection, with the added ability to make LAN parties even easier to execute. Will there be Halo: MCC PC split-screen? The short answer: Not at launch, it seems.
During a Reddit AMA around six months ago, “ske7ch,” the community director at 343 Industries answered many questions regarding the Halo Master Chief Collection PC port. One such question posed by Redditor MineXide directly asked: “will there be local split-screen multiplayer/campaign?” Ske7ch’s response was as follows:
He explained that split-screen on PC “is tricky,” and that “the team is still looking at what can be supported.” While this doesn’t outright say that there will be no split-screen in MCC on PC, it does suggest that perhaps it won’t be there for the game’s launch, at least.
We’re imagining that the developers are ensuring that the port of the singleplayer and online multiplayer of the first release, Halo Reach, is as good as it can be. We would love to see split-screen multiplayer and co-op on the Master Chief Collection PC port, but we’re not expecting to see it right away. Hopefully, either Microsoft or 343 Industries can confirm split-screen multiplayer in MCC on PC sooner, rather than later.
