Alien Alloy is a valuable resource for those who want to upgrade their weapons and gadgets in order to make survival easier. The harsh alien environments can prove to be too much at times, often pitting you against seemingly insurmountable challenges. Most of the time, however, you just need to get a new upgrade. This is where Alien Alloy and other resources come in, which can be combined in the 3D printer aboard your ship.

Of course, you’ll first need to find Alien Alloy in order to use it. Alien Alloy is found within special combat and puzzle plants. You can see an example of the plant in the image above. They are usually found near tough enemies and at the end of puzzles. You’ll either need to beat all enemies in the area or traverse the puzzle in order to “unlock” the plant. It will then allow you to pick up the Alien Alloy. Head back to your ship to secure it.

The Alien Alloy Detector upgrade for your visor offers a helping hand at tracking down Alien Alloy. To access this upgrade, you’ll need to achieve Science Rank 3.
