Does LoL: Wild Rift closed alpha progress transfer to the full game?

League of Legends: Wild Rift

Plenty of alpha and beta tests, along with game demos, entice players by having progress be transferrable to the final release. While it means that hard work pays off twofold, it can also cause imbalance upon a game’s launch. Wild Rift developer Riot Games seems keen to avoid this, responding to a question on whether alpha progress will carry over with a simple “Nope.”

ALSO: What is the League of Legends: Wild Rift closed alpha end date and time?

As stated in the Riot news post nothing material will carry over, but you can develop “sweet skills” to bring across. This stance shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, with the developers stating that the launch of LoL: Wild Rift represents a fresh start intended to be “fair and fun” for all comers.

Similarly, the full game won’t feature cross-save or progression with the PC version. Moreover, existing skins and playable champions won’t transfer and must be re-purchased or earned through gameplay. While League of Legends: Wild Rift will be entirely free-to-play, as you might expect, it’ll be supported by microtransactions.

Does League of Legends: Wild Rift closed alpha progress carry over?

  • No, any progress made in the LoL: Wild Rift alpha will not transfer to the full release.
  • Presumably, the same will apply to all future test phases.
  • Riot is aiming to ensure that Wild Rift is “fair and fun” for everyone at launch.

LoL: Wild Rift is scheduled to hit iOS and Android in 2020. Console versions will follow at an unspecified later date.
