The Hitman 3 Cloud Version seems like it would be a lot like the recently released well-regarded stealth game. However, that added subtitle is making some question what it is. So what is Hitman 3 Cloud Version? And how does it differ from the other versions of the game?
Hitman 3 Cloud Version, explained
Hitman 3 Cloud Version is essentially the Nintendo Switch version of the game. But instead of running locally like most games on the platform, the title is streamed to the Switch over the internet and requires a constant internet connection. Control, another demanding home console title, did a similar thing in 2020. This version is also not available on the other consoles.
Hitman 3 Cloud Version shows up as free on the eShop, but don’t be completely fooled. It only appears that way because this short trial only lets players test their connection before fully committing to this game. Players only get three minutes in the game before the Access Pass is required.
After downloading the small trial launcher, users will hit a few dialogue boxes. After hitting “OK,” another screen will come up and ask if players want the Demo Trial or the Nintendo eShop. Demo Trial takes them to the game (which will be the tutorial) and the Nintendo eShop will let players buy the full game if they please. Choose the former to start testing.
After the timer is up, the game will have a warning notifying them along with a button to go to the eShop. From there, players can pick the $59.99 Standard Edition that come with just the game or the $79.99 Deluxe Edition that comes with a few extra goodies. It’s worth noting that it might not run well on many connections, especially for those using Wi-Fi so it might be best to enjoy this game on other platforms where the data is store locally and looks and runs at its best.
There is technically another Hitman 3 Cloud Version, but it isn’t quite referred to as that. The game is also available on Google Stadia, which also streams the game to various supported platforms like the PC, tablet, laptop, or Google Pixel phone.
