Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has an explosive ending that sees the final boss defeated and the universes returning back to normal. However, there are some questions left unanswered. Be warned that there are spoilers ahead in this Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart ending explained guide.
What does the Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart ending mean?
After being transported back to their own home, Megalopolis, Ratchet and Clank fight to defeat both Nefarious enemies.
Emperor Nefarious is ultimately gripped by the sea monster and taken back through the rift to the pirates’ domain. It should be noted that he isn’t outright killed here, meaning there’s potential for him to return.
Dr. Nefarious ends up taking the side of Ratchet and Clank, refusing to save his Emperor counterpart.
As for Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit, we last see them relaxing together. Though they now have the Dimensionator, it’s not clear if the next plan is to go through a rift to visit more Lombax.
Will there be a sequel to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart?
It’s not yet confirmed whether or not there will be a sequel to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
With Rift Apart ending on a bit of a cliffhanger, with all characters interested in meeting more Lombax, it’s possible that the story could continue somehow.
A Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart 2 title seems unlikely, however. A sequel would likely have a new name. With both Rivet and Kit now introduced, it’s possible that a “Rivet and Kit” game will be made.
The critical reception for Rift Apart has been enormously positive. This bodes well for the future of the series.
Will Rivet be in another Ratchet and Clank game?
It’s not yet known whether Rivet will appear in another Ratchet and Clank game.
However, the critical reception has been very positive for the characters, which definitely works in her favor. This is the same with Kit, another new addition. Maybe a “Rivet and Kit” game will bring the two back for another adventure!
