How to turn on the New World minimap
Amazon Game Studios has decided not to include a minimap in New World, unlike many other MMOs of its type. It is a design choice rather than a mistake, as players are meant to rely on the general world map and their compass at the top of the screen to track things like resources in the world — which is excellent until the compass breaks entirely, as it does for players right now following expeditions.
New World hasn’t had a minimap since the initial alpha and beta tests earlier this year. Players have been asking for some sort of minimap for all of this time, but as of yet Amazon Game Studios has decided not to implement one. It may get added in a later patch, but as of right now there is no minimap in New World so players will just have to make do with the compass.
