Wonder Woman Nemesis System

Does Wonder Woman use the Middle-Earth Nemesis System?

Has the Wonder Woman Nemesis System been confirmed by Warner Bros? The moment that fans have dreamed about for a long time finally happened at the Game Awards last night as a DC’s Wonder Woman open-world game was finally confirmed — and is being developed by Middle-Earth: Shadow of War developer Monolith Productions. However, is Wonder Woman using the Middle-Earth Nemesis System?

Is the Wonder Woman Nemesis System confirmed?

Wonder Woman Nemesis System

The Wonder Woman game by Monolith Productions is indeed using the Nemesis System created for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

For those that aren’t aware, the Nemesis System appeared in both of Monolith’s Middle-earth games and is the patented system whereby enemies can remember defeats or victories and come back as named opponents, with new lines of dialogue and skills based upon how they were defeated previously or how they defeated the player. While the games were fun Assassin’s Creed-style titles, it was the way the Nemesis System created villains for the player to be invested in beating that made them truly special.

Fans have always believed Nemesis would be ideal for a comic book game and now that is finally happening. As the press release confirms, other than being a single-player open-world action-adventure in the style of the Middle-Earth games, Wonder Woman will definitely use the Nemesis System. “Gamers will forge deep connections with both enemies and allies as they progress from a heroic fighter into a proven leader,” says Warner Bros.

While a release date for Wonder Woman hasn’t been confirmed, so don’t expect it in 2022, fans can at least see Wonder Woman in action in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League next year — which also had a gameplay reveal trailer at the Game Awards alongside the Wonder Woman game. The movie version of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) will appear next in Wonder Woman 3 or possibly in the rumored Zack Snyder’s Justice League 2.
