The Book of Boba Fett Is Cobb Vanth dead

The Book of Boba Fett: Is Cobb Vanth dead or alive?

In the latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett, is Cobb Vanth dead or alive? The Marshal played by Timothy Olyphant was established in Disney’s post-Return of the Jedi continuity in books before appearing as the holder of Boba Fett’s armor in The Mandalorian Season 1, before popping up again in The Book of Boba Fett episode 6 — only to be shot in a duel. Is Cobb Vanth alive in Book of Boba Fett now, or is he actually dead?

Is Cobb Vanth dead in Book of Boba Fett?

It is very likely that Cobb Vanth is still alive in The Book of Boba Fett after his duel with notorious bounty hunter Cad Bane (Corey Burton). Despite his fate seemingly being left ambiguous, Vanth was only shot once in the shoulder and the Freetown residents immediately attended him with medical aid. Vanth’s deputy was not so lucky and is definitely dead after being shot multiple times by Cad Bane.

It seems very possible that Cobb Vanth will be back in The Book of Boba Fett episode 7, where he will be more willing to help Boba Fett and The Mandalorian kick the Pyke Syndicate off Tatooine — as they were the ones that hired Cad Bane to take out Vanth, as punishment for Cobb’s interference with a spice deal earlier in episode 6.

As for Cad Bane himself, after being strongly rumored for the series the gunslinger-like bounty hunter made his live-action debut after his previous appearance in The Bad Batch animated series — where he got into a fight with Book of Boba Fett’s Fennic Shand (Ming-Na Wen). It’s reasonable to assume both Cad Bane and Cobb Vanth will return in the next episode.

In more Star Wars news, after introducing skins based on both The Mandalorian and Boba Fett, popular battle royale game Fortnite seems to be building to a proper Star Wars season which could drop next month.
