Moon Knight Khonshu

Moon Knight: Is Khonshu Evil in the TV Show?

Moon Knight is now available to watch on Disney Plus, giving Marvel fans another live-action show to dig into and theorize about. With yet another hero making the leap into the MCU, there’s a big discussion surrounding what comics have inspired this version of the character, especially with the controversial history of Moon Knight and his puppeteer, Khonshu. Here’s what we know so far about the god character who has joined the MCU and whether or not they are evil.

Is Khonshu evil in the Moon Knight TV show?

Moon Knight Khonshu

Khonshu is not evil in the Moon Knight TV show and is not a main villain.

As of episode 2, Khonshu hasn’t done anything overtly evil that would make him a villain character. Though he certainly manipulates Steven Grant, it’s similar to the relationship seen between Eddie Brock and Venom. Though Venom is certainly not an innocent character, he is not the villain of the movies.

Of course, Khonshu could change to be a villain during this show, or in future Marvel properties. They are certainly a powerful force to be reckoned with and could pose a threat to a new team of Avenger heroes. This would especially be the case if Mephisto was involved, manipulating Khonshu, as seen in the comics.

For now, however, Khonshu remains a “good character,” fighting against evil enemies. Though their methods may be a little brutal and intense, they certainly have a “Venom vibe” about them and are therefore listed under “Hero” rather than “Villain” (for now).

If this changes by the show’s end, this piece will be updated to reflect Khonshu’s current status.
