PlayStation State of Play 2023 Date Rumors: When Are New PS5 Games Revealed?

With 2023 being in full swing, people are wondering when the season of game reveals and showcases will begin, and when Sony will hit us with the next PlayStation State of Play in 2023. Usually, they tend to hit in around summer, but this year we’ve already seen a Microsoft showcase. This has people wondering when we might be seeing a similar showcase from Nintendo, or indeed from Sony on the future of the PS5, in a State Of Play 2023 edition.

When is the next PlayStation State Of Play in 2023?

There is no official date for the next State Of Play, but if Sony is looking to take on Xbox directly (thanks to its recent Xbox Bethesda showcase), it’ll be sometime soon. Nintendo is reportedly looking to do a Nintendo Direct this month, so PlayStation might look to do one as the last of the big three. Alternatively, as Sony will reportedly skip out on E3 this year, too, the company might decide to host its own event in June 2023.

What PS5 games will be in the State of Play 2023?

But what would we see at the next State of Play? It’s likely PlayStation would fixate on what is releasing this year, so games such as Final Fantasy XVI, Spider-Man 2, and perhaps a few surprises would be included.

Final Fantasy XVI especially is due to release in the first half of this year (June specifically), so it’s likely we see more of that in the coming months, whether that be as part of a State Of Play or not.
