Surprise Sale Hits Steam This Week Only

Rejoice, for Gabe Newell, the patron saint of stupid-good semi-annual game sales, has blessed the gamersphere with a surprise Mystery Midweek sale running until Friday, February 13.

Present in this go-round of delightfully-discounted games, players can scoop up Rockstar's old-timey detective shooter L.A. Noire for 75% off, as well as Max Payne and its two follow-ups, Max Payne 2 and Max Payne 3. Gone Home, the indie hit, can be found for 60% off, and the story of Bigby Wolf can be found for half-off in The Wolf Among Us, my pick for my Editor's Choice award last year. People can also explore the psyche of horror novelist Alan Wake in his self-titled debut as well as its sequel, Alan Wake: American Nightmare for 50% as well.

Sam & Max fans should also squeal with delight; those who have missed any of Telltale's episodic adventures with the straight-laced detective and his mostly-crazy bunny sidekick can pick up Sam & Max: Season One, Sam & Max: Season Two, and Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse for 75% off each.

The sale ends on Friday at 10am PST, so stretch out your shopping fingers and get your plastic ready. It's a much better Valentine's gift than the usual crap.
