Nunchuks Come Back to the Stage of History

I hate Maxi. He's easily the cheapest fighter when controlled by the computer in Soul Calibur II… on the Gamecube of course. I've played each entry in the Calibur series but haven't gotten as deep into the mechanics since Link, Spawn, and Heihachi joined the cast, albeit briefly.

I mean, c'mon, Darth Vader and Yoda? Please. I'm not one for creating my own fighter either. Regardless, I'm hoping Soul Calibur V manages to wrap up every amazing fighter throughout the franchise's history and comes packed with an amazing net code for online play.

These screens from Gamescom confirm that Maxi, Tira, Voldo, and Hilde will be making their way back to the Stage of History. They've joined Pyrrha, Patroklos, Zwei, Natsu, Ivy, Mitsurugi, and Seigfried in the 2012 edition of Soul Calibur.

With Street Fighter IV signaling the renaissance for fighting games and leading the charge for 2D fighters, will Soul Calibur V mean the return to form for 3D fighters? Let's gawk at some screens while we wait to find out!
