This Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Poster Is Soaked in Blood

The "final" poster for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been revealed, and features not only our main man Snake (aka Big Boss), but also his sniper-wielding sidekick Quiet. Oh, and did I mention they're both completely soaked in blood?

Series creator Hideo Kojima revealed the poster on Twitter, saying: "New & final visual poster for limited stores, will be displayed on the wall from Aug. Quiet & Snake covered w/ blood."

Give it a look below.

Kojima isn't one to shy away from pushing the boundaries of what games can do or show—just play through Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes if you don't believe me—so this blood-soaked poster certainly isn't an unprecedented move by the Metal Gear creator.

That said, do you think it's a little over-the-top for the sake of generating a response from the community? In the lead up to this game, a number of controversial decisions have been made to grab the attention of a few extra eyeballs, not the least of which include a figure of Quiet that features squeezable boobs. A little much? Yeah, probably.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PS3, and PC in September. Will you be picking it up on launch day?
