Australian Retailer Gives Kojima Proper Credit

Hideo Kojima lovingly crafts the Metal Gear Solid games, and thus his name often appears on promotional material and box art. That's started to change with the recent meltdown of Konami, but fans and retailers still know who's largely responsible for the series.

The Australian retail store JB has taken matters into its own hands. Kojima's name doesn't appear on the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain box art like previous series entries, so JB came up with its own solution. The result is a big cardboard sign on the retail display that reads, "A Hideo Kojima Game."

The above photo is just one example of JB's efforts to give Hideo Kojima proper credit. In fact, signs stating "A Hideo Kojima Game" can be found in multiple JB stores across Australia. Kojima even retweeted one of the photos as a sign of appreciation for his fans.

I know there's been some hesitation to purchase Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain due to Konami's involvement, but I'm a glass half full kind of guy. I choose to look at a purchase as a way of supporting Kojima and the rest of the Kojima Productions team for all their hard work. Also, I love MGS and need to see how the series ends.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out next week on September 1 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
