Amazon Will Permanently Offer Pre-Ordered Games at 20% Off

Amazon has quickly become the retailer of choice for gamers during the past couple years, and it's continuing to gain momentum. With its latest offer it may just win over fans of Best Buy and GameStop.

Amazon has announced that it will offer pre-order and newly released video games at 20% off. For standard $59.99 MSRP games, this brings the price down to $47.99. But the offer will also apply to special edition packages, including expensive collector's editions which will have even greater savings. The only catch is that customers must have Amazon Prime to receive the discount.

This deal was in response to Best Buy's similar deal which has made it a primary destination for many gamers who pre-order. To combat this, Amazon's 20% discount will be permanent.

There is a multitude of great games coming out this year, some of which could be considered safe pre-orders. Some games of note that will release in the near future are Dark Souls 3, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Quantum Break, and Tom Clancy's The Division.
