Ed Boon Announces Injustice 2 Release Date

It's not an IP address or anything else you can entire into a web browser, and the "i" isn't a thinly-veiled typo for the number one. Ed Boon, in truly Ed-Boon fashion, Tweeted out only that image, but it was, of course, enough for us to determine that the long-awaited Injustice 2 will be releasing May 16, 2017.

The fighting game's release date was previously rumored to be March 28, 2017, something Boon completely shut down, after said release date appeared on an Xbox Rewards Program website.

We always knew we'd need to hear it from the horse's mouth, no offense to Mr. Boon, who I'm sure is not a horse.

It's a good thing, too, because March is an insanely crowded month for gaming, whereas, at the moment, the only other game officially announced for a release in May is the kickstarted Battalion 1944. While Injustice 2 may eventually have competition in its release month, it's certainly the biggest title at the moment.

Playable characters already announced are Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Deadshot, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn, Supergirl, Superman and Wonder Woman.
