Treyarch Says Wii U Is Worth Considering

Thus far, Call of Duty: Black Ops II will not be on the Wii U, but that isn't stopping from game developer Treyarch from commenting on the possibilities. In fact, he believes that the Wii U could push the series' limits.

"When you talk about any technology that can enhance the Call of Duty experience, that's technology that is worth considering," John Rafacz, Treyarch's director of communications, told Videogamer in an interview. "There's that core Call of Duty experience and that is what fans expect, so anything that helps advance that is worth considering."

We all know that Nintendo believes—not to mention, wants—that the Wii U will become the "preferred" console to play core games like Call of Duty. However, if it's all about using the touch screen as your HUD, maps, and inventory, then Microsoft's Smart Glass technology could rival that. Couple that with a next-gen console, and no one will really be looking at the Wii U for these core games.

For the now, however, it is interesting to see Treyarch claim that the Wii U could advance the Call of Duty series. I'm going to assume they mean with the GamePad and not the engine, graphics-capabilities, online capabilities, etc. Otherwise, I'll simply concede that I have no idea what's real in the video game world anymore.
