The Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer May Contain Free Codes for The Witcher 3

So, while we were all enraptured by the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer at E3 2018, some viewers noticed something a bit odd about all that hacking text. When the text start scrolling down, there were two columns containing rows of 25 letters and numbers with a hyphen placed every five characters. For anybody who has entered a code for redemption on the Xbox Store, these look very familiar. In fact, some are saying there are hidden codes for free copies of The Witcher 3 hidden just before the Cyberpunk trailer starts.

I was skeptical, so I decided to check it out for myself. There’s one big difficulty with this whole thing, though. The codes scroll by quickly and even paused it can be hard to make out some of the characters.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I only had time to check about ten of them. Most of them gave a message stating the code was invalid. However, one of them did give me a message that the code had been redeemed, so at least a few of them must do something.

Unfortunately, I can’t confirm or deny that the codes hidden in the Cyberpunk trailer unlock The Witcher 3. I can confirm that they do something, though. What you actually get from redeeming them is up in the air, but at least one person says it is The Witcher 3.

There’s plenty of codes there to try out, and there’s always a chance there’s one that no one has redeemed yet. Start the E3 conference footage below, watch carefully, and give it a try. The codes aren’t actually in the version of the trailer posted on the Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube, so you’ll have to view the live version to see them. You might not get anything, but there’s nothing to lose and possibly The Witcher 3 to gain.
