The PlayStation 4 Controller, In the Flesh… Maybe [Update: Possibly A Prototype]



[UPDATE]: An inside source has told IGN that the image above is in fact real and taken of a prototype version of the controller.

 

[Original Story]: What you see above could very well be the controller for the PlayStation 4. This image comes by way of Destructoid, which points out the controller's connection to what almost certainly is a PS4 dev kit.

As you can see, the device has a handy little touch-pad/screen in the middle (as previously rumored) as well as slightly redesigned d-pad and analog sticks. There's a large blue light on the top of the device, which is perhaps Move related, and what appears to be a headset jack just below the PS button. The controller also looks a bit more rounded and bulkier than the traditional DualShock's slightly more angular design.

I must admit, I'm not a fan of this thing. For Sony's sake, I really hope this isn't the final version of the handset. What do you think? Do you like the design? Let us know in the comments below.
