Gwent mobile version

Gwent mobile version revealed, will launch this year

A Gwent mobile version will be coming later this year according to CD Projekt Red. The news was announced at the company’s annual investor conference alongside a whole host of other financial records. The Gwent mobile version will come first on iPhone before adding Android support later.

Gwent mobile will launch in fall 2019. The standalone card game was released following the popularity of Gwent within The Witcher series. Gwent even received its own spin-off named Thronebreaker, which provides a single-player component to the game in role-playing game form.

A Gwent mobile version follows several updates to the card game in its current console and PC based iteration. Last year, Gwent added a new mode called Arena, which allows players to build decks across factions. Earlier this month, a Crimson Curse expansion for the game was announced.

The Gwent expansion will see the introduction of cards related to Dettlaff van der Eretein from The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. While the most recent Gwent announcement will see it come to mobile, GameRevolution recently listed it as a title that needed a Switch port along with a whole host of other free-to-play games.

Other news from the investor conference included CEO Adam Kicinski stating that E3 2019 would be the most important E3 for the company, with CD Projekt Red set to show off more of the upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077.

According to CD Projekt Red, the marketing for Cyberpunk 2077 has reached over 250 million people thus far. The company also hinted that there would not be an appearance from a certain singer who is rumored to be a part of the game. Additionally, CD Projekt Red revealed plans for a new building in Warsaw which would allow it to expand its development team as well as the news that its digital distribution platform GOG only may a net profit of $7800 in 2018. For both the studio, and Gwent, the future is looking bright.
