XBL Games With Gold To Offer New Free Game On 1st And 16th Of Each Month

During Microsoft's E3 press conference last week, the company announced its answer to PlayStation Plus: Games With Gold. Each month, gamers who subscribe to Xbox Live Gold will get two free games each month.

Now, the Big M has revealed that on the first and sixteenth day of each month, a new free game will be available for subscribers to download. Right now Fable III is available free of charge, and starting next month, Assassin's Creed II and Halo 3 will be free.

As our way of saying thanks for being part of this community, we're giving all qualifying Gold members two free Xbox 360 games each month for the rest of the year. Each specially selected, fan-favorite game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they're gone and keep them no matter what.

Looks to me that, unlike PlayStation Plus, the games you download will be yours even if your Gold subscription runs out. Unless "keep them no matter what" means something else.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Let us know in the comments below.
