CouRageJD rage quits $400,000 Fortnite tournament because of mechs

A popular Twitch streamer has rage quit a $400,000 Fortnite tournament after losing a battle to the B.R.U.T.E. mech. Streamer (and Fortnite fanatic) Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop was playing in the tournament alongside TimTheTatman in duo queue. After a particularly difficult battle, CourageJD simply hit his breaking point.

“It doesn’t make sense!” CouRageJD began in a nearly minute-long rant. “I talked to so many people at [Epic Games] about so many things and they get me so excited. And then they do this, bro! There is no rewarding part of this thing, dude!”

“I can’t find anyone that likes these!” he continued, referring to the B.R.U.T.E. mechs. “When you use them, they feel terrible, bro. Like, it’s making my blood boil, dude. Holy s***, there’s no actual reasoning behind this, bro. Holy f*** man. I’m not playing anymore, bro. I’m off this game. I’m sorry, Tim. I’m not playing anymore today. I’m off this f***ing game, bro.”

Throughout Mr. Dunlop’s rant, his duos partner TimTheTatman was supremely calm, acknowledging his partner’s frustration and expressing a sense of understanding about what he was complaining about. Tim occasionally stepped in to speak quickly, but he mostly let CouRageJD vent.

“I love this game so much,” CouRageJD concluded. “And how incompetent is this decision, dude? I’m off this game, I can’t play it.”

CouRageJD subsequently left the tournament before completing it, forfeiting a chance to win a big chunk of the $400,000 prize pool. He later followed up his rant with a tweet stating that he would not be playing in today’s tournament in favor of playing Minecraft, stating that his streams are “100% positive.”

Epic Games, for their part, addressed the issue of the B.R.U.T.E. mechs about a week ago, essentially saying that they’re here to stay for Season 10. I imagine that more than a few people wouldn’t agree with this decision (especially CouRageJD).
