Dragon Quest: Your Story Netflix release could be coming soon

A new listing for the Dragon Quest: Your Story CGI movie suggests the film could be coming to Netflix soon. The Dragon Quest: Your Story Netflix listing appears to label the movie as a Netflix Film, suggesting Netflix has some kind of publishing deal with the movie’s original creators.

The Dragon Quest Netflix listing does not give a specific release date for the movie. Dragon Quest: Your Story released in Japan on August 2, 2019. It adapts the story of Dragon Quest 5, one of the series’ most beloved entries. Certain elements of the movie have earned it criticism from franchise fans, however: While it uses characters and story beats from the original game, the CGI style is a major departure from Akira Toriyama’s iconic character designs, and the film takes some major liberties takes with Dragon Quest 5′s story.

Dragon Quest: Your Story currently has a 2.2 out of 5 on Japanese review site Eiga and a 4.3 out of 10 on IMDB.
