New Fortnite update fixes under-the-hood issues

The Fortnite 3.12 update patch notes have been detailed by developer Epic Games. The new Fortnite patch is currently rolling out across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android. (iPhone users are still stuck in update limbo, unfortunately.) While some patches are announced ahead of time, the April 6, 2021 update is a surprise. Players won’t be expecting the download as it pops up onscreen. Here’s what the new update changes.

Version 3.12

  • Code Green Wrap now displays numbers correctly.
  • Collection Book Character #17 will now appear on the island.

The above changes are what were confirmed to be “Fixed in Next Game Update” on the official Fortnite Community Trello.

Of course, it’s possible that Epic Games has snuck in some other changes. Players will need to explore the island themselves to potentially spot them, or wait on data miners to dive into the newly-patched build.

For those players who were hoping for a big content drop, that isn’t the case here. For those types of updates, the official @FortniteGame Twitter account normally announces the patch a day before it drops, teasing a feature and hyping up the audience. Surprise updates like this generally just tweak minor issues that aren’t as deserving of fanfare.

Expect to see a bigger update dropping in a week or so. The Epic Games development team is pretty consistent when it comes to rolling out new content each week, which keeps players engaged.

The Fortnite “Invalid Client” error has been a recent annoyance for players. Here’s how to go about fixing it, should it appear again.

A previous update targeted the Creative Mode with a host of changes. Take a look at the patch notes here.

The Breathless Blades might look awesome, but how exactly can players unlock them? Here’s the need-to-know information.
