Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie trailer absent from Sonic Central event

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is a sequel that fans of the blue hedgehog are no doubt looking forward to. Unfortunately, for those turning in to the Sonic Central event to celebrate the character’s 30th anniversary, there was no mention of the movie. Why wasn’t there a new Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie trailer? Here’s the need-to-know.

It doesn’t look like there was any intention for a Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie trailer to be shown during the Sonic Central 2021 event.

Instead, the show focused on music, both old and new video games, and TV shows. There was no mention of the movie, nor any trailer or clip for fans to watch and enjoy.

With rumors and leaks surrounding the upcoming sequel, fans might have thought that a trailer was inevitable. Sadly, that was the case, at least for the Sonic Central event.

After the title announcement and release date announcement back in February, the community has been eager to see more from Sonic and Tails. The movie is scheduled to launch on April 8, 2022, which means there is a big gap of time where trailers could be deployed.

Fans will need to remain patient as they wait for the new trailer and, ultimately, the movie. Thankfully, there’s a host of Sonic content in the works across gaming, TV, and music spaces to tide folks over.
