Gotham Knights’ The Joker may have been leaked by McFarlane Toys

A potential Gotham Knights Joker leak has been spotted thanks to the reveal and pre-order page for the McFarlane Toys Batgirl action figure, whose backing artwork seems to tease the appearance of the ultimate Batman villain in the game. There have been big Gotham Knights action figure leaks from McFarlane previously, but this is the first time they’ve teased a new character. So is The Joker is Gotham Knights?

McFarlane Toys has this week published the pre-order pages for its range of Gotham Knights action figures that are coming in 2022, presumably alongside the game whenever that release date will be. The figures include all four playable members of the Bat-family in their game designs, along with a piece of artwork. While the others feature older screenshots, the artwork for the Batgirl figure shows her standing on a rooftop next to some familiar graffiti — a bunch of “ha ha ha” marks that can only be indicating The Joker.

So far the only Batman villains to be revealed for Gotham Knights are Mr. Freeze, The Penguin, and the Court of Owls, with teases spotted for Anarky, Ra’s Al Ghul, and Two-Face. Until now there hasn’t been a single hint towards The Joker, the biggest Batman villain, whose status in the game is completely unknown despite the apparent death of Batman/Bruce Wayne — although developer WB Montreal has already hinted that this was probably faked. As for Joker, it would certainly be interesting to fight him as a member of the Bat-family rather than Batman — although WB Montreal did do that already in the Batman: Arkham Knight “A Matter of Family” DLC.

As for Gotham Knights, many are hoping to see a release date trailer at The Game Awards next month, as the game’s already long overdue — if so, it may come with a reveal of The Joker too. Fans will have to wait until December 10 to find out.
