Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain May Not Release Until 2016

Depending on how the development of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain goes, gamers may be waiting quite a while to play the fifth proper entry in Hideo Kojima's beloved stealth-action series.

During Konami’s post-financials investor call, the company revealed that the game could be released during fiscal 2015 or 2016.

This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, especially when considering the sheer ambition of the project and Kojima Productions' high standard for quality. There's no doubt it will be worth the wait, even if it ends up being two more painful years.
