Kojima: MGS5 “More Than 200x Bigger Than Ground Zeroes,” PC Port “Definitely Something I’d Like to Do” [Update]

[Update] PC gamers holding out hope for a Metal Gear Solid V port on their platform of choice may just get their wish.

"PC, that's my original background. I originally created PC games," Kojima told GameSpot. "A long time ago I didn't want to rely on platforms to release games, so if people want it, I cannot make a formal announcement, but that is definitely something that I would like to do."

[Original] Ground Zeroes, the upcoming prologue to Metal Gear Solid V proper, has been criticized for its length. However, in an almost certain effort to counter this bout of negativity, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has spoken out to assure fans that The Phantom Pain won't skimp on length like its prologue.

"Players will start complaining that they can’t clear the game, [it’s] too big to clear," Kojima said to IGN when discussing The Phantom Pain's length. In fact, the Metal Gear mastermind is actually a bit worried that a lot of gamers won't make it through the entire campaign, as it's "more than 200x bigger than Ground Zeroes."

With regard to Ground Zeroes' short campaign, which reportedly takes no more than two hours to complete, Kojima explained that "it’s not about clearing the story, it’s not about clearing the mission," but rather replaying the game to explore other ways to play.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes launches on March 18th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PS4. Based on initial reports, the optimal experience can be found on PlayStation 4.
