Mario Golf: World Tour Getting DLC Season Pass

Believe it or not, Nintendo is embracing the season pass model for downloadable content, as the company has just announced that gamers will be able to buy into Mario Golf: World Tour's DLC early.

A total of three add-on packs are planned for release following the game's launch, each adding new courses as well as new playable characters. The first expansion, dubbed the Mushroom Pack, will add Toadette to the roster of golfers, while the subsequent Flower and Star Packs will add Nabbit and Rosalina into the mix, respectively.

The Mushroom Pack will be available on launch day, May 2nd, while the Flower Pack will be launching later that month and the Star pack is scheduled for release in June. Gamers will be able to purchase each pack individually for $5.99, or grab the season pass for $14.99 and get all three. Those who pick up the season pass will also get a playable Gold Mario character as a bonus.

Mario Golf: World Tour launches on May 2nd, exclusively for 3DS. Stay tuned for our full review, which will be coming very soon.
