Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, The Phantom Pain Reportedly Coming to Steam [Update: Confirmed]

[Update] Series creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain will be releasing on Steam.

[Original] Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes as well as The Phantom Pain are headed to PC by way of Steam, according to Konami Europe.

While the publisher's website indicates that the pair of games will be coming to Steam, the link to the actual news story (via Polygon) appears to be broken. Perhaps Konami wasn't quite ready to make the announcement and unintentionally let the cat out of the bag prematurely? Sounds about right to me.

Until now, we've been led to believe Metal Gear Solid V will only be available on console, so news of a Steam release should definitely excite the PC-gaming crowd. While Ground Zeroes may already be out on console, I'm sure Steam users would be happy to gear up for The Phantom Pain by diving into the prologue.

Any of you PC-exclusive gamers out there excited at the prospect of a Metal Gear Solid V release on Steam?
