PlayStation 4 Is Australia’s Fastest-Selling Console of All Time

PlayStation 4 is now the fastest-selling console of all time in Australia, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia announced.

To no one's surprise, PS4 is the number one new-gen console in the region, breaking pre-order records and leading to a significant increase in the value of Australia's console market. "The console hardware category in Australia has more than doubled in value since release of eighth generation hardware in 2013," NPD Australia's Luis Gil announced. "PlayStation 4 accounted for a substantial 44 percent of the total category value since its launch."

As we head into the holiday season, it'll be interesting to see how Xbox One fares against the juggernaut that is PlayStation 4. Will the $50 price slash in North America give the Big M's console an edge? We'll just have to wait and see.
