Joy-Con drift lawsuit potentially being investigated by US law firm

If you’ve got a Nintendo Switch, you might have started to notice that one or both of the Joy-Con analog sticks has started to “drift.” Drifting is where the sticks still input movement, despite the user not touching them. This can lead to characters moving unintentionally, which is especially annoying on games like Mario Kart, where a slight movement can send you veering off the track.

Law firm Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Nintendo.

Fortnite ranking drops to #2 on consoles for the first time, Superdata suggests

The seemingly unstoppable battle royale phenom Fortnite has been knocked from the console top spot, according to data analyst company Superdata. The free-to-play title has seen great success since its launch two years ago, earning revenue through microtransactions and “battle pass” subscriptions. However, if the information provided by Superdata is accurate, Fortnite has fallen to the second spot in the console game rankings, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 rising above it.

Belle Delphine banned from Instagram following ‘Gamer Girl Bath Water’ controversy

Following her successful attempts at selling her “Gamer Girl Bath Water,” cosplayer Belle Delphine has been banned from Instagram. She was reportedly removed due to complaints surrounding “nudity or pornography.” At the time of her account’s ban, Delphine had over 4.5 million followers.

Alan Wake 2 was put on hold in favor of Control and Quantum Break

The good news for Alan Wake fans is that a sequel was planned, but the bad news is that it was put on hold for the development of Quantum Break and Control. Ultimately the game that would have been Alan Wake 2 became Control, so expect to see similar themes explored in that upcoming Remedy Entertainment title.

Alinity Twitch ban petition blows up, animal welfare group investigates cat throwing video

After a clip of Twitch streamer Alinity throwing her cat had gone viral, a petition requesting her removal from the platform picked up over 15,000 signatures. Animal rights organization PETA saw the clip and also demanded that Twitch remove Alinity, stating that “she is using the platform to post animal abuse, which sends a dangerous message to anyone watching her videos.”

Batista won’t be in the Gears of War movie, says he’s ‘tried everything’

Drax the Destroyer, Dave Bautista, has said that he has “tried everything” to play the role of Marcus Fenix in the planned movie. The former WWE star tweeted that the people in charge of the movie couldn’t “give AF.” He then confirmed that he’s “tried everything to make this happen.” Sad times for Bautista fans!

Wolfenstein Youngblood RTX support won’t be available at launch

Despite more and more games including support Nvidia’s RTX technology, some are only offering compatibility after launch. This means that owners of RTX graphics cards have to wait a while to witness games in their full graphical quality. Wolfenstein: Youngblood RTX support is not available at release, and is instead described as “coming soon.”

Xbox One dashboard redesign will remove Cortana

Cortana’s days are numbered on Xbox One. The dashboard redesign will see the assistant removed from the console. This marks a move from on-console to cloud-based assistant experiences.
