August 2013 Releases: Buy, Try, Or Die?

Obligatory remark: DIVEEEKIICCCKKK!!!!

After July's Steam Summer Sale, maybe all of those deals have taken the wind out of your sails. You know, the ones that are made out of money. Great… now I'm imagining a sail literally made out of dollar bills, because you know there are rich folk who will do that sort of thing…

Of course, the gaming industry can't let you stop draining your wallet, and August is exactly when the holiday season starts. Or is it? I can never tell anymore. It just gets longer and longer and longer. That's because we have the likes of Pikmin 3 and Dragon's Crown, both reviewed and both releasing next week. Hey, we need more people for Dragon's Crown multiplayer, darn it!

Then later in the month, Nintendo has Mario & Luigi: Dream Team while Disney releases what is destined to be the cash cow known as Disney Infinity. The latter half of the month is dedicated to more hardcore gaming with Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, Lost Planet 3, Killer Is Dead, Madden NFL 25, and the much-anticipated remake of Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn.

Saints Row IV gets its own sentence, because I'm an editor and I say so.
