The Xbox 360 was going up against the PS3. Helping Microsoft to dominate its competition during that early stage was the pricing. While the PS3 price tag was set at a whopping $599, the Xbox 360 launched at just $299 for the “Core” version and $399 for the “Premium” version.

You can watch the Xbox 360 reveal conference below. It took place during E3 2005. Microsoft discusses the new hardware and offers a look at a number of new next-generation games.

Though GameRevolution didn’t review the Xbox 360, we did give our thoughts on the Xbox One and Xbox One X. For 18 years now, Microsoft has stuck by the Xbox brand, reinvigorating it with new hardware upgrades and console-exclusive games, in addition to a number of compelling services. In particular, the Xbox Game Pass subscription model has seen huge success, offering fantastic value for money.

Now we await the full reveal and launch of Project Scarlett, Microsoft’s next-gen console for 2020. It’s going to be an exciting year for gamers, as both the new Xbox and PlayStation will be revealed and do their darndest to win the money from our wallets!
