Tell GR | What is your favorite Halo game?

Halo: Reach is out on PC and Xbox One today via the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, so everyone is plugging a great many hours into this classic. As such, Team Game Revolution has been discussing their favorite Halo games over the years, from the groundbreaking Combat Evolved through to 343 Industries’ modern takes on the series.

But now we want to know YOUR favorite Halo game. Leave your replies in the comments section below, and as always we’ll feature our favorite response in tomorrow’s Tell GR!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “Halo 2. I lost countless hours to this game. My favorite memories revolve around its custom game types like Tower of Power, where a team had to take control of the tower at the back of Ascension and defend it from attackers, and Cat and Mouse, where you squished other players with vehicles. I’ve probably played Halo 2 more than any other game, so this easily tops my list.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I really love Halo: Combat Evolved. I spent a lot of time playing it with friends when the Xbox launched, and there’s a lot of good memories that surround it. I remember how impressed I was that the floors in the Forerunner structures had a kind of transparent look to them, and how revolutionary that seemed at the time.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: Halo 3 is my favorite Halo game. While I enjoyed Halo 2’s campaign, I never tried the competitive multiplayer. Halo 3 is where I put in hundreds of hours, playing PvP with friends and spending too much time in the Forge map maker. The co-op campaign with its massive battles was also a blast to play through on the hardest difficulty and with some wacky Skulls enabled.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “I never touched a Halo game until 2015 when I played the first four numbered entries in the Master Chief Collection. Being completely detached from nostalgia and multiplayer, Halo 4 was my favorite. It was the most modern and had the smoothest campaign. Despite my best efforts, I’m still not a huge Halo fan but I wouldn’t mind playing Halo 4 again in the future, which is probably more than I can say about the others.”

Question: What’s the best PlayStation game ever?

bigtruckseriesreview: The game that forced me to go out and spend the money on a new Playstation was WARHAWK. I’d have to say that the two games with the most impact across Playstation 1, 2, 3 and 4 would be either Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy 7. But since I never played Final Fantasy games… METAL GEAR SOLID WINS!!!”
