NOMVDIC P1000 4K Projector Review

The NOMVDIC P1000 4K projector enters the market swinging, promising a sharp resolution, high brightness, low input lag, and fantastic ease of use. Can it deliver a good enough experience to match the premium price tag? Here’s my review.

Small spaces are welcome

NOMVDIC has designed the P1000 with portability in mind. The hidden handle and short-throw design make it convenient to move and set up in various environments. Additionally, the projector’s 1.2x optical zoom and flexible short throw ratio allow for significant image size adjustments without having to move the projector itself. These are must-have features that I look out for in modern projectors.

Easy setup

The P1000’s auto vertical and horizontal keystone correction, autofocus, and four-corner adjustment simplify the setup process, allowing for quick recalibration and clarity. However, the lack of built-in streaming capabilities might be a drawback for some users. You’ll be wanting to pair this projector with an Amazon Fire TV Stick or something similar for full functionality. The Harman Kardon speakers provide decent audio quality, although any serious users will be pairing a dedicated surround sound system or soundbar.

Standout specs

The P1000’s 4K UHD resolution and 2,300 ANSI lumens brightness stand out on the spec sheet, especially at this price. While I continue to be suspicious of brands promising 4K and underdelivering, the P1000 is sharp, bright, and has accurate colors. Though I didn’t push the image size to anything past 100 inches, I can say that movies and games looked great at that size.

When it comes to brightness, the P1000 can power through environments contaminated with ambient light. While it still outputs its best image in complete darkness, it’s good to see that it’s at least usable during the daytime.

For the gamers

For gamers, the low input lag of 4.2 ms at 1080p and 240 Hz makes the P1000 a strong contender, ensuring smooth gameplay without noticeable delay. I combined the P1000 with my PS5 and enjoyed Call of Duty: Warzone on the big screen. It felt great, as I was able to perform well, which is often tough on other projectors with more input lag.

Final Verdict

At its full retail price of $1,699, the P1000 goes up against some tough competition. However, during my three weeks of testing, I’ve seen the price drop in sales. During Black Friday, for example, it dropped to $1,299, a price that I feel is more appropriate. (You can check the latest price on Amazon here.)

The NOMVDIC P1000’s excellent picture quality, low input lag for gaming, and user-friendly features make it an attractive choice for a home theater setup, when the price is right.
