Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you won’t have missed the release of Call of Duty: Warzone on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The brand-new free-to-play Call of Duty battle royale is out at last, but not on Steam. Is there a Call of Duty: Warzone Steam release date though? Is there a Call of Duty: Warzone Steam release date?
As of writing, you cannot download and play Call of Duty: Warzone on Steam. This will, of course, be annoying for those of you who have built up a list of CoD friends on the platform over the years. Despite the fact that the new battle royale game isn’t on Steam right now, we could be playing it on Valve’s PC gaming platform in the future.

Just because Warzone isn’t on Steam right now doesn’t mean it will never release on the platform. There are tonnes of free-to-play games available on Steam and there’s seemingly no real reason why Call of Duty: Warzone can’t be one of them. Before you get your hopes up, however, it’s worth noting that neither Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 or Modern Warfare (2019) is available on Steam.
Warzone is tied into the world of Modern Warfare and is a separate mode on the game for those who own it. As Modern Warfare isn’t available on Steam, it could spell bad news for those of us waiting for a Call of Duty: Warzone Steam release date. For now, you’ll have to make do with playing CoD: Warzone on PC via Activision Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher, as we explain in this guide.
While it may seem unlikely that Warzone will release on Steam right now, it could happen in the future. Never say never and all that. For now, though, you’ll need to play through the Battle.net launcher on PC.
